While released from a nine month prison stint back in January, Kevin Gates fans have been patiently waiting for new music from the Atlantic recording artist. After previewing new material on social media, Kevin Gates releases his first batch of new music post-jail in a new three-song EP, titled, ‘Chained to the City’.
The EP title is inspired by Gates current no-travel ban after his release on parole by the state of Illinois. Gates is restricted from leaving the state and currently resides in Chicago, the same city he caught his 2013 gun charge. No features, solo dolo, Kevin Gates refreshing new collective contains new single, “Change Lanes” and two other tracks, “Vouch” and “Let It Sing”.
Throughout the EP, Gates touches on his current legal situations and updates fans on what he has been up to since his release and several incidents that went on while he was imprisoned. ‘Chained to the City’ is a self-release via Gates’ Bread Winners Association imprint.
