Kalpee, the young Trinidadian artist who took the world by storm with his single “No One” in 2017, just came out with a new music video for “Paramin High”.
The fruit of hard labor, this video means a lot to the artist, and not just for the reasons you might think; during the shoot, Kalpee suffered a freak car accident, leaving him with broken ribs, a collapsed lung, and a shattered spleen. After 3 hours of surgery, transfusions from 2 blood donors, 6 days in the hospital, and time spent at home to rest, he has made a full recovery from the incident, thanks to the amazing support surrounding him and his craft.
Proud of his roots, Kalpee makes a point of honoring his country in his music, blending modern genres with the traditional Calypso and Reggae rhythms.
On an uplifting beat mixing pop and reggae vibes, Kalpee takes us for a ride around his home country, making us seriously consider dropping everything to escape to a tropical paradise like Trinidad. So by all means, if you’re looking for a break from the dreary winter, sit back, relax, and enjoy “Paramin High”.
