After having a huge 2020 with several breakout songs like “Ground Control” and “Suicide Down,” several big collaborations and high volume streaming numbers. Los Angeles-by-way-of-Dallas singer, Lourdiz, closes out the year with a homage track to her family and friends called “Somersault.”
Directed by JMP (Roddy Ricch, 6lack), the 19-year-old star rallies the community for some fun and quality time. Showing us the people behind the star helping her make her dreams come true. “Somersault” is easily Lourdiz best work yet and the perfect jump-on point for any newfound fan.
On the making of “Somersault,” Lourdiz shares with us the song’s meaning, saying: “Growing up in the hood, I learned early to keep my eyes wide open and my mouth shut: no habla inglés. When I wrote ‘Somersault’, the first line ‘can’t keep my eyes closed’ speaks to that and my present journey living in LA now. I have to be sharp all the time to figure out my surroundings and what’s my next move.”
“Somersault” is available on all DSPs via Lourdizmusic. For more Lourdiz, follow her daily on Instagram.
