I think most of us can remember where we were when we heard the tragic news about young Trayvon Martin being killed. As horrible as his passing was, as unjust as the charges against George Zimmerman played out- Trayvon’s death sparked the #BlackLivesMatter movement and inspired more and more people to stand up and fight against racism, unjust killings, police brutality and more. Trayvon’s death was felt and mourned far beyond his community.
Jay-Z has teamed up with the Paramount Network as the executive producer on the 6 part docuseries titled ‘Rest In Power.’ The series will detail the life of Trayvon Martin as well as the movement and legacy he left. Featured in the series will be Taryvon’s parents, Al Sharpton, Carmelo Anthony and others.
The series is set to premiere July 30th at 10pm. Check out the official trailer.
