It’s 1999, I’m 14 and I remember being at my friend’s house after school watching TRL and seeing Christina Aguilera’s “Genie In A Bottle” music video. I was a fan, immediately.
That era of music was filled with Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, N’SYNC and all the other boy bands and female POP/R&B singers. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a teeny bopper. I was! One thing I’m proud about is how musically cultured I am. I grew up on it ALL and loved it all.
Christina Aguilera was and still is something special. Her incredible vocals, her insane range, her soulfulness- incredible! I had her 1st album and listened to it though and through. Over the last 25 years, I’ve revisited the album often, loving it just as much now as I did as a teenager.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of her self titled debut album released in 1999, Xtina performed a reimagined version of the album with a full band, back up singers, guest guitarist MGK and all the brilliance only her can bring to a performance.
