5 MUST SEE Hip-Hop Documentaries To Add To Your Watch List!

If you know me, you know I love a good documentary- especially a good Hip-Hip documentary! One thing about hip-hop, you’ve got to love it, respect it and know its history. I have always felt like if I was going to love hip-hop as much as I do, then I better do my research.

I’ve seen many over the years but some are better than others so I’m listing my TOP 5 favorite Hip-Hop docs! You will not be disappointed!

1.) Rock The Bells “An inside look at what it took to bring the Wu-Tang Clan (ALL MEMBERS) together for their final performance at the Rock the Bells Hip-Hop festival.”

There are SO many reasons why I love this documentary! This story for one, is insane! The loops and hoops that Guerilla Union company owner Chang Weisberg goes through to make this happen is nothing short of inspiring. If you have any experience in the music industry throwing events, concerts, or promoting shows, then this will HIT DIFFERENT! And if you don’t have any of that experience, then I can confidently say you will learn A LOT watching this! This concert was ICONIC for Hip-Hop culture! Watch all of it go down!

2.) Fade To Black “An intimate look at hip-hop artist Shawn Carter, Jay-Z, revealing the multiple Grammy Award winning artist as never before, from his background and rise to fame to the recording of his last album. The film chronicles the legendary concert of Jay-Z’s performance at Madison Square Garden in November 2003. In an unprecedented event, a hip-hop artist sold out an arena in only two hours…”

Fade To Black is seriously such a treat for hip-hop fans, especially us Jay-Z fans. Of course this was never his last album, as we know now but this behind the scenes look into his creative process was so special. The creative connections featured in this documentary are amazing- Timbaland, Pharrell & many more!

This is an eye-opening inside look at backstage life on the hip-hop road.”

Probably one of the most insane tour lineup’s ever. What I would give to have seen this show live. This documentary is WILD as you should expect. The partying, the hustle, the girls, the turn up… WILD. This is a classic Hip-Hop tour and we are lucky it was documented!
